Consignment of Items - easy guide

Our Auction House lives from its varied and diverse consignments. Before the items are consigned, an appraisal of them should be made. The best way of doing this is to show us your treasure personally in original form. Prior to this we are pleased to receive photographs by email (chz@zeller.de) or by post (Bindergasse 7, 88131 Lindau). Should, after appraisal by our experts, it then be considered to be put into auction, a price will be proposed. This price is the so called Reserve price and is the starting price at auction for the item.

Next the item will then be categorized, described and photographed and presented in its best possible form in the auction catalogue (in print format as well as online). Our aim is then to increase the price through as many bids as possible.

Should at auction (by which one can bid personally, by fax, telephone or Internet) there be only one bid, the consigned item is then sold at its Reserve price.

The resulting price in the auction room is the so called Hammer price. In the case of sale, the auction house then receives the prior agreed commission and cost that have accrued by its inclusion in the catalogue and on the internet (Illustration, description text and Insurance).

The advantages of a sale by auction is that the item will be sold for the best possible price!
